About

Me

Darcie Duttweiler is a native Texan, but don't hold that against her. She graduated magna cum laude from Southwestern University in 2006 with a B.A. in Communications and English.

Currently she's the Digital Marketing Manager at Austin Monthly, where she runs the online presence of the brand, including strategizing, writing, editing, and publishing all online content, exponentially increasing social media numbers, managing all email newsletters, and basically helping in anything not physically in the magazine.

Previously, she has freelanced at some of the coolest publications in Austin, such as TRIBEZA, Rare, The Onion, UrbanPollution, and the Austinist, and written so many SEO-friendly articles for marketing companies that she's lost count.

Professional highlights include: Interviewing Tony Kushner as a college student, interning at Jane magazine in NYC at 21, not barfing on Ryan Gosling during a SXSW interview, and writing a 6-page feature in Austin Monthly about Pierce Brosnan's show The Son, including profiling the novel's author and shadowing a day of filming on the set.

Luckily she is able to feed her film, hamburger, and wine habits with her writing skills. Her true loves are her no-tailed cat and David Bowie (RIP!).
